It appears that Oilers top defenceman Darnell Nurse has suffered an apparent lower body injury after taking a strong hit from Panthers Evan Rodrigues.

Nurse was attempting to clear the puck out of his own zone when Rodriguez barrelled towards him and launched a monster hit which caused Nurse to clutch his hip. Shortly after, nurse skated away straight to the dressing room as he was in obvious pain.

As the first period wound down and the second period began Nurse returned to the bench and then was back in the dressing room again. Nurse was hoping for a better game after Cody Ceci and himself had a tough outing in game one.

It remains to be seen on whether Nurse will be able to play for the remainder of the game as he did return to the bench a second time but had yet to get onto the ice. It was reported by Elliotte Freidman that he has yet to play and remains on the bench.

The Oilers are looking for a bounce back game after losing 3-0 in game one. The Oilers hope they can split the series as the series shifts to Edmonton for games three and four.
