The commentary was amazing as some fighters had not seen a hockey fight before. Fighters like Brandon Moreno of Mexico, Amir Albazi of Iraq and Erin Blanchfield of the United States were shocked and surprised on how well fighters can throw punches while staying on skates.
The Fighters got to watch some of the most legendary scraps from the Battle of Alberta through the 2000s, including the fight involving goaltender Mike Smith.
Canadian welterweight mixed martial artist Mike Mallott stated how hard it must be to stand on skates and throw punches while keeping your balance and Canadian fighter Charles Jourdain feels it is too violent and that is why he never played hockey.
Canada has seen its share of fighters in the UFC as popularity within the country and overall around the world has been steady if not growing. The UFC has been part of world entertainment since the early 2000s and continues to rival the WWE.
Seeing hockey fights from their perspective certainly gives them a different look on the sport and it appeared that they appreciated the toughness that these players have and the difficulty in having a fight while being on skates.
The Edmonton Oilers are still actually undefeated this season as long as a player fights in their games. They may not be thought of as a physical team this year, but they're still a team that thrives off that energy. So far, Vasili Podkolzin and Darnell Nurse have been the team's physical leaders - hopefully that continues.
