Moments ago, news broke that the Vancouver Canucks have signed Dakota Joshua to a 4 year contract for $3.2M each year.

The Canucks seem to be on a roll, with Patrik Allvin having a reputation as a GM who is always super active in offseasons. After the trade last night, the Canucks have decided that Dakota Joshua would be valuable enough to keep around on the team for the foreseeable future.

This contract is a very good bargain deal, as Joshua is a great middle six winger that contributes heavily to the Canucks' success. Joshua had 18 goals and 32 points in 63 games, sitting just above a point per game.

Joshua is also very strong defensively for the Canucks, sitting with a +18 on the season. His line with Garland and Blueger was one of the most productive bottom six lines in the league this season, with great point production and chemistry between them. Coach Rick Tocchet was a big fan of Joshua, and this signing will bring back an important player in Tocchet's system.

This comes a day after the Canucks announced the re-signing of Blueger as well, so keeping this line together was obviously a great priory for the Canucks. This signing may not seem like much, but can definitely be added to other signings to make an already great Canucks team even stronger.
