Canadian Rivalry Gets Granted an Outdoor Game This Year
Each and every year NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and the league usually announces a select amount of outdoor games, whether that is the winter classic or heritage classic, the NHL chooses a few lucky teams.
With the leagues recent announcement, Oilers fans will be quite happy.
The NHL has announced that the Battle of Alberta will be taking place in the 2023 Heritage Classic!!!
One of the most popular rivalries in all of sports is a great choice by the NHL, two teams who are deserving of an outdoor game, as well as the NHL will make large profits off this event - a win-win situation for fans and the league,
The 2023 Heritage Classic will mark the third time the Oilers will participate in an outdoor game the club having played in that inaugural Heritage Classic and the 2016 game in Winnipeg and also the third for the Flames, who similarly hosted a Heritage Classic, in 2011, and took on Winnipeg in 2019.
Ok Oilers fans, who's ready?
