Last weekend's killing of a 23-year-old man was the result of an altercation that reportedly involved a former NHL prospect for the San Jose Sharks.

Artem Ivanyuzhenkov, 24, who recently played for the San Jose Sharks AHL team, was charged with murder after the 23-year-old stabbing victim passed away. Ivanyuzhenkov was celebrating his birthday in the Russian city of Podolsk when the incident took place.

The news outlet, Aftonbladet released the following information, and it was then translated to English:

False and complete lies are flying around the internet that I committed a crime in the Moscow region in some restaurant. Do not believe unconfirmed information. I am at the training camp in Sochi for the third day. The investigation will sort everything out.

Ivanyuhenkov was an undrafted player who would leave North America before the year even ended when the San Jose Sharks organizationgave him an opportunity in the 201920 season.

In the year 2020, Ivanyuzhenkov also killed a cyclist in Russia. Furthermore, it was revealed that Artem's father held the dual positions of Deputy Speak of the Russian Parliament and Minister of Sports from 2006 to 2021, which may have helped to the concealment of these occurrences.
