Last season, Klim Kostin won the hearts of Edmonton Oilers fans with his hard work on the ice and engaging interviews that took into account fan opinions.

As a depth forward, he played a crucial role in the team's push for the postseason.

Sure not sounding good here. Would be hard to see Klim Kostin go. A very popular player here who stepped in for Evander Kane and stepped up big in the playoffs.

"We're quite a ways apart": Ken Holland on tough contract negotiations with Klim Kostin https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/cult-of-hockey/were-quite-a-ways-apart-ken-holland-on-tough-contract-negotiations-with-klim-kostin

It doesn't sound like Klim Kostin is coming back

However, there is a possibility that he may choose to return home to the KHL due to disagreements over contract negotiations with the team.

Despite his valuable contributions to the team, General Manager Ken Holland may be forced to let him go due to financial constraints.

While Holland praised Kostin's ability to score, hit, and fight, the reality is that many players face tough decisions when it comes to their contracts and Kostin may end up being a cap casualty.

Ken Holland is relying on Dylan Holloway to break out this season. He also says we will keep Ryan Mcleod

Looks like Holland has found his solution in lieu of letting Kostin walk.
