New York Rangers Defensemen is Being Called Out After Releasing a Controversial Statement Due to Spitting in Opponents Face
When the New York Rangers hosted the Los Angeles Kings last night, it had the perfect postseason feel. Both teams were fighting for a victory. Drew Doughty, a veteran LA Kings defenseman, got into a confrontation with K'Andre Miller, a rookie who was ultimately ejected for making an obscene gesture towards Drew Doughty.
Miller made intimate contact with Doughty'sface before spitting a significant amount of spit on him. You may see for yourself here:
Miller reportedly reached out to Doughty in person after the game and they worked things out, but today is a different story after Miller released a statement on his social media.
K'Andre Miller:
I wanted to take a moment to address what occurred in last night's game. I have all the respect in the world for Drew Doughty and what happened was completely accidental. I would never intend to do something like that on purpose, it goes against everything lam as a person and player. I felt awful about it and I am thankful Drew gave me the opportunity to apologize and explain myself in person after the game.
It makes sense that many people are calling this statement a fraud. Making a public apology is still a kind gesture, but it seems like he is downplaying the fact that he intentionally planned to spit on him.
