Recent News Suggests The Oilers May Lose Evan Bouchard in The Long Run
As the off-season approaches and the Edmonton Oilers end another season without a Stanley Cup, they are planning to make some changes.
They will be rearranging their roster, signing, and keeping players for both short-term and long-term. One of the players they need to make a decision on is Evan Bouchard.
The Athletic's Daniel Nugent-Bowman reports that the Oilers are considering whether to bridge him or sign him long-term.
Signing him for two years would keep the salary cap hit low, which is beneficial for the team. However, if they want to build a winning team, signing him for a longer term would be better, despite the cost.
The Oilers are always vigilant and hope that their efforts pay off. Losing someone like Bouchard, who is vital on the blue line, would not be a worthwhile sacrifice.
