General manager Ken Holland will have a juggling act on his hands as he attempts to reshape this lineup for this coming October. He only has $5.9 million in cap space to work with seven free agents he'll need to make decisions to retain or let go.

There's also the draft that's upcoming on June 28th and 29th. Teams attempt to make trades during that time to bolster the lineup or a move to open up more cap space and add depth.

During an interview with the athletics Daniel Nugent Bowman, some insights were brought out as to what Holland's plans are for the Oilers and how he will address them.

Oilers Alert tweeted some information that cleared up some of the pictures. It appears Noah Philips will be calling it a career and will not be back, the Oilers don't feel a buyout is necessary but possible and Holland's priority is defence which I agree with as he has to decide on defenseman Evan Bouchard's contract since he is a restricted free agent with arbitration rights.

It'll be a fascinating time to be an Oilers fan and to see how their management team will handle all this.
