According to Elliotte Friedman of the 32 thoughts podcast and Sportsnet insider, it appears that the Toronto Maple Leafs will have a press conference on Friday morning which will have MLSE president Keith Pelley along with GM Brad Treliving and Leafs president Brendan Shanahan.

The news of this press conference is what Leafs nation has been waiting for as speculation has been rampant across the Internet and television onto what will happen with Leafs management, the coaching staff and certain players as change is expected throughout the organization.

The fan base has been turned on its head after losing to the Boston Bruins in game seven on Saturday night. Fans have been pointing fingers and turning their attention to certain players including Mitch Marner as to why the Leafs lost the series.

This press conference could have many meetings on what may happen to the structure of the organization. Speculation has stated that it's possible Pelley will take over as president of hockey operations, Shanahan could be demoted to a secondary role until his contract runs out which will end in 2025 and Treliving would work directly with Pelley and have full hockey control.

It remains to be seen on whether head coach Sheldon Keefe will remain in his job as he spoke to the media earlier today giving his take on the series against Boston and the overall year.

One thing is for certain, fans across the NHL will get to hear more annoying Maple Leafs news throughout this summer as the winds of change continue to blow in Southern Ontario.
