When Kane was removed from the series, Knoblauch said there's a very good chance he'll back into the lineup. Now heading into Game 7 and with Kane ramping up at practice the next few days, it's looking like he'll be back in and another forward will need to come out.
If judging by the most recent lines, it's most likely that Corey Perry or Ryan McLeod could come out for Evander Kane. There was some confusion yesterday that Dylan Holloway may come out for Kane, but Holloway's level of play is undoubtedly keeping him in the lineup.
It'd be easiest to take out McLeod or Perry, but even those players have been playing well over the last three games. There's always the theory too that a coach shouldn't change a winning lineup, so even if Kane is healthy there's a chance he won't play.
At the same time, Kane is a dynamic physical forward when he's healthy, and likely hurting to get into the series again. If he's cleared and ready to go for Game 7, Knoblauch will have a critical decision to make.
Game 7 of the Cup Final kicks off Monday night in Florida, and it's already the most anticipated game in modern hockey history. The Edmonton Oilers are looking to complete one of the most legendary comebacks in pro sports, and all the pressure has shifted to Florida. The Oilers have the Panthers right where they want them.
