There was no mincing words for Tkachuk. He said with certainty that the Stanley Cup Final will end tonight with a Panthers win. It's the Panthers first true opportunity to win a Stanley Cup, and they're guaranteeing they'll throw the put-out punch tonight.
On the other hand, after Game 4 Connor McDavid stressed the Oilers' job to drag the Panthers back to Alberta, where it feels impossible the Panthers could lift the Cup. McDavid is planting the seeds of belief in the team, and Coach Knoblauch is even counting down the day until a potential Game 7.
For the rest of the series, the Oilers will have their backs against the wall if they want to pull off one of the most impressive comebacks in sports history. If any team could do it, it'd be these Edmonton Oilers, led by Connor McDavid from near last place in the league earlier this year. Not to mention, every time the Oilers have won four games or more this year, it's come after losing three straight.
Tonight at 8:00 in Florida, we'll see if Tkachuk and the Panthers live up to their guarantee, or the series becomes very interesting as it shifts back to Edmonton.
