The City of Edmonton is ready to erupt and celebrate their first Stanley Cup in 34 years, so much so that they've already lost control on the crowd outside Rogers Place.

Fans have been lining up for hours today to get into the Moss Pit and the surrounding Ice District Fan areas, as well as the watch party inside the building. The line started with order for much of today, but apparently is beginning to overflow with 2 hours to go until puckdrop. There's no order to a line anymore like at previous games, and fans are beginning to spill into the street. Police services have had to step in to stop admittance to the area.

This is just the pure passion of hockey fans in Edmonton peaking for the most important game of the Connor McDavid era. Oilers fans aren't just in Edmonton tonight either, plenty are travelling to Florida.

WestJet has reportedly charted multiple flights from Edmonton to Florida yesterday, sending plenty of Oilers fans to the game. So far in restaurants around the arena, Oilers fans are showing up in droves. Not only that, but of course the team has flown in over 200 friends and family to be present if they win.

If the Oilers are able to pull of the win tonight and secure the first Stanley Cup in the Connor McDavid era, Edmonton may pop off for a party that lasts for the rest of the week. If they don't win, nobody doubts that this team will be back again - maybe even next year.
