With the Oilers staying alive with a resounding game 4 win, the Panthers are now put on the momentum back foot. Both teams are close to full strength, despite the probable many injuries both teams are dealing with. The Panthers look to get a great depth piece back, as they come on the brink of clearing Lomberg to return to play.
With Lomberg coming back, Florida gets back a key penalty killer in their system, as well as great speed to match some of the Oilers' speedy depth players. Lomberg is a great tempo player for the Panthers, as he is incredibly fast and is an underrated physical presence for an already very gritty team.
Lomberg is a very solid piece for the Panthers, focusing mostly on his forechecking ability. Lomberg gives opposing teams very little time to regroup and figure out a game plan, which can lead to turnovers or offensive lapses. Lomberg has taken back his usual spot on the fourth line for the Panthers, along side Kevin Stenlund and Kyle Okposo.
A healthy Panthers team is something that the Oilers don't want to see. Florida has been hot enough, and the Oilers need to do everything they can to dig themselves out of the home they're in. They need to continue to overwhelm Bobrovsky, and their depth keeping puck possession in the offensive zone will be a huge X factor to winning this game. The Oilers have looked about as good as you can for a team down 3-1 and like Skinner says, if anyone can come back it's the Oil.
