This could be very bad news for the Oilers, as it seems that they are still looking to add a bigger forwards at the deadline. They would most likely have to pay a massive price for players like Henrique, Guentzel and Monahan. It might be time for the Oilers to look more towards defensemen, as they can be a better pick for Edmonton's value. Elliotte Friedman also seems to share this ideology, as he joins the Jeff Marek show to clear up some ideas on Oilers deadline moves.
From Friedman, it sounds like there is a very good chance Sean Walker could be sent to either the Oilers or the Lightning. Walker would be a great fit for the Oilers, as he would move Bouchard up to the top pairing and Walker could slot on to the second pairing.
Another backup option for the Oilers that Friedman mentioned is Alexandre Carrier of the Nashville Predators. Carrier is a great option for the Oilers, as he is a good shutdown defenseman who can put up 30 points in a year. He is also on a $2.5M expiring contract, so he wouldn't cost much for the Oilers to go out and get him.
