The hosts of the Spittin Chiclets discussed that St Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn maybe heading to the Edmonton Oilers as they have connected them prior to the trade deadline.

Former Edmonton Oilers Ryan Whitney describes what kind of player Schenn would bring to the table as he has a warrior like attitude and playoff pedigree that the Oilers could use and his signed for another three seasons at $6.5 million AAV.

Spittin Chiclets panel gushes at the idea of Schenn in Edmonton

They also mentioned that another Western Conference team who's always in the mix when it comes to big name trades, the Vegas Golden Knights are also in the rumor mill to landing Schenn.
To bring a player in like Schenn would change the entire dynamic of the Oilers and give them a new offensive threat that could be enough to put them over the top.
If Oilers General Manager Stan Bowman were to make a big splash like this, it would certainly take some prospects and high draft picks to make this happened.
The Oilers and the Blues have had some recent history as the Oilers lost both Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg to offer sheets to General Manager Doug Armstrong.

Blues may shop several players at trade deadline

It would not be surprising if Bowman is looking at the Blues as a potential trading partner as Armstrong has become active at the deadline for a second year in a row.
The Blues have not responded after firing their head coach and installing Jim Montgomery and may need more work and renovations to make the team better in the future.
This could give Bowman plenty of opportunities to upgrade his team which includes bringing a player of Schenn's capabilities into the Oilers dressing room which would improve their leadership even further with Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Corey Perry and Evan Bouchard.
For now, Oilers Nation will need to wait and watch to see if Bowman can make a significant trade or work around the edges and make a minor deal going into the deadline as the NHL continues its two week break for the Four Nations Faceoff.
