Oilers coach Knoblauch demotes Corey Perry
After a very close 2 periods between the Edmonton Oilers and the Detroit Red Wings, something changed. The Oilers came out firing on all cylinders, and put up FIVE goals in the third period, running the red wings right out of the building.
Although the game was tied, Oilers head coach Knoblauch realized that the Red Wings were heavily getting more scoring chances and odd man rush opportunities. He then made some line changes which created a major spark. These changes were:
Kane Draisaitl Holloway
Foegele McLeod Perry
It clearly proved to be the right move, as the Oilers came out like absolutely on fire to start the third period, taking the lead and burying the Red Wings for the rest of the game.
Holloway ended up scoring a Bobby Orr like goal which continued the momentum on this exciting period. It was a great night to be an Oilers fan during this 8-4 win, especially with McDavid getting his 600th assist and let alone getting 6 assists in the game. We are witnessing history.
