Flyers acquire very interesting goalie for unexpected playoff run
As the Flyers look to stay in their current playoff spot, all they have to do is keep being the team they've been all season. One of their biggest inconsistencies this season has been the goaltending since the removal of Hart from the roster. They look to bolster that with their newest signing, where they bring a very promising prospect to the team.
However, their new goalie has a very weird story that brought him to the NHL. Fedotov last played on March 8th and still had time left on his contract, when CSKA Moscow suddenly decided to terminate his contract effective yesterday.
Fedotov was a fantastic goalie in the KHL, posting a .914 save percentage and a 2.37 goals against average in 44 starts for the team. He is 27 years old, which means he is ready for the NHL now. This is exactly what they need, as they need a starter for their unexpected playoff push. If Fedotov manages to keep up his fantastic play and take the vacant starting position in Philadelphia, they could be a whole new animal when it comes to postseason strength.
