Max Domi loses it after a personal insult during Leafs most embarrassing loss in years
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs gave the hockey world an early Christmas present as they entirely embarrassed themselves in a 9-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
Towards the end of the game, tempers started to boil over. It was a matter of pride for the Sabres, defending their home ice from the droves of Leaf fans, and also for the Leafs who were losing in embarrassing fashion. That's why when a Sabres forward mocked Max Domi while the game was out of reach, Domi got on the ice expecting to receive an ejection.
From the bench, Sabres' forward Jeff Skinner began mocking Domi for missing his front teeth.
Shortly after this, Domi hopped on the ice to begin a shift but instead went for direct contact with Skinner. He tries to lean in and hit Skinner, but doesn't make great contact, and both of them separate. Other teammates took note however, as they went to confront Domi for trying the cheap hit.
It's a different look for the Leafs to put up a physical fight and make a losing effort about their pride, and for that reason, the new additions like Domi fit well with their needs. Still, it's hilarious to see them lose by this amount - the hockey world appreciates it.
