This past NHL season was a memorable one for Erik Karlsson, who joined a select group of six defensemen to accumulate 101 points.

His impressive performance has caught the attention of several teams in the league.

Karlsson's outstanding stats were achieved despite playing on a struggling team. Imagine what he could do for a successful team like the Edmonton Oilers.

His presence would undoubtedly boost their already strong offense and power play while freeing him from the challenges of rebuilding and the struggles of the San Jose Sharks.

Recent reports suggest that the Oilers may be considering revisiting Karlsson to discuss a possible deal. However, the main issue that needs to be addressed is his salary.

The Oilers are currently up against the cap, and bringing in a third team to retain salary could make the trade more feasible, given Karlsson's $11.5 million AAV salary cap hit.

The Oilers are planning to release multiple contracts in order to make room for more talent, so it only makes sense to explore the possibility of adding a Norris Trophy favorite like Karlsson to their team.

While the financial situation may be challenging, if anyone can work their magic to make it happen, it would be Ken Holland. The Oilers would love to see Karlsson wearing the orange and blue.
