The Vegas Golden Knights have achieved an impressive feat by reaching their second Stanley Cup Finals in just six seasons as an expansion team. However, coaches are not immune to making mistakes, including both criticizing their own team and taking jabs at others.

Unfortunately, Bruce Cassidy fell into this trap. Following Game 5, Cassidy commented on the Golden Knights' 24 giveaways, comparing it to a situation where even the Arizona Coyotes wouldn't come out on top. This remark was unprofessional and bordered on being antagonistic, deviating from Cassidy's usual dialogue style.

«We had 24 giveaways," Cassidy said after Game 5. "I'm not sure you're beating the Arizona Coyotes in January with 24 giveaways. That's no disrespect to Arizona, but it's not the right way to play.»

After facing backlash, Cassidy recognized his error and issued an apology, acknowledging that his comment was disrespectful and unfair to involve the Coyotes in the conversation.

But now, Cassidy regrets the remark and apologized.

"It was disrespectful," he said. "It was a dumb thing to say about puck management, to bring another team in."

It's worth mentioning that despite Cassidy's remarks, the Golden Knights did suffer a 4-1 loss to the Coyotes at Mullett Arena this year but only had two giveaways in that particular game.
