During their first episode of the new season of 32 thoughts, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman predicted a bleak picture for Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko as his return remains up in the air.

The 28-year-old goaltender has been battling an injury throughout last season and it appears according to Friedman that he may not have a timeline to when he can return to game action. Friedman also stated that the injury Demko has sustained will need to be nursed throughout the season as surgery is unable to fix the issue.

There has been much debate and rumors that have circled Canucks fans for the past several months. During last year's playoffs, Arturs Silovs took over their net and tried to get the team to the third round of the playoffs.

But with recent reports of Demko skating again, many felt that this means he has turned a corner and that he could likely return to the lineup just prior to the season starting. It remains to be seen if this will take place or he will remain on the sidelines fort he foreseeable future.
