Team Canada and Team USA are about to play their first best on best international game in nearly 10 years, and ticket prices have soared over $10,000 for the marquee event.

Tonight's game is expected to be an incredible atmosphere not only for the rarity of international hockey, but the unique debate around the national anthem and outside factors at the moment.

Ticket prices reach all time highs before 4 Nations Faceoff

According to Julien Mackenzie of the Athletic, the most expensive ticket being sold for tonight's game has reached the absurd price tag of $12,300. The tickets are the fifth row in the section right behind the benches.

As expected too, even the cheapest ticket in the arena is still majorly expensive for a hockey game. Yesterday, the cheapest ticket available for sale was a standing room only ticket for $762.

It's an absurd price tag for a single ticket hockey game, let alone paying for a group to attend. The rabid hockey in Montreal surely plays a factor, but that's wild prices.

Tonight's game between Canada and the US has the added draw of being the first international games in nearly 10 years with a uniquely heated environment, but the NHL is making a full return to international hockey in the coming years.

The city of Edmonton is currently named as being in contention to host the 2028 World Cup of Hockey, allowing fans to see Connor McDavid play for Canada up close for the first time.

With games now expected every 2 years, hopefully the price comes down from $762 to see a game. NHL games are expensive enough as is.
