Over the past few years, it was evident that Saint Louis Blues needed to make a change to their organization as the team has fallen off dramatically since its 2019 Stanley Cup win.
General manager Doug Armstrong began the process last year when he traded off a few of his players in order to create a different mix to help light the fire under his team.
This season, however, has been dreadful for the Blues and after going 3-7-0 in their last 10 games and out of the playoff picture, Armstrong made the change and fired head coach Craige Berube.
As the days have passed, players have been asked what their thoughts are on the coaching change. Blues forward Jordan Kyrou deadpanned and gave a brutally honest opinion on how he felt about his former head coach.
It's clear that Kyrou and Berube did not get along, and Berube was known for being extremely tough on his players. That coaching style seems to be losing it's grip as players are looking for a more player friendly one.
As other teams have fired their coaches this year, most teams have had a bounce back in results it remains to be seen whether the Blues will see the same under rookie head coach Drew Bannister.
The Blues next game will be at home against the flailing Ottawa Senators. Game time will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
