In his NHL career, Brandon Sutter has played for the Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Vancouver Canucks franchises.

He was offered a PTO by Ken Holland and the Edmonton Oilers after recovering from long-covid.

Bro got released and said fuck it i'm hanging up the skates, you gotta respect it tbh.

He didn't make the cut on the roster, as he was released today from his PTO. After that, he decided to hang up his skates for good.

He hadn't skated on NHL ice in two years and may not have been ready to join the NHL full-time yet.

Having lost Darryl Sutter to retirement and Brandon hanging up his skates, the Sutter legacy is drying up in the NHL.

As a member of three NHL teams after leaving the league, Brandon Sutter played 770 games, scoring 152 goals and 137 assists for 289 points and racking up 149 penalty minutes.

On the Oilers, he was competing for the position of 4th line center.
