With Bettman signing a deal for fanatics to take over production of all NHL official jerseys, most people knew it would be a negative thing for the sport. Fanatics has a reputation of being the cheapest manufacturer of sports memorabilia and only caring about money.
Despite only being in training camp for the NHL season, Fanatics is already living up to their reputation. Their fan jerseys are known for being cheap and very breakable, but even the pro jerseys are having lots of problems this early into their use.
It's crazy that the jerseys are already having such simple problems, when Adidas jerseys had barely any problems while they were the jersey sponsor. The quality of player jerseys should never be something that is questioned, which is very worrying about the quality of jerseys during the regular season.
Not only is the quality of the jerseys a worry, but the actual jerseys themselves aren't good either. The practice jerseys look terrible, which could be an indicator that the regular season jerseys may look terrible as well.
These jerseys look absolutely awful, seen in both the Oilers and Kraken's uniform pictures. They look low quality and the designs on them are awful.
If these training camp jerseys are any indication of what's to come, it isn't looking good. Combine this with the fact that some of the fan jerseys have already had issues with spelling and stitching, and Fanatics really needs to up their game.
