While speaking to the media this morning, Coach Knoblauch revealed that Keith came by yesterday to speak to the team informally. Keith's Blackhawks in 2011 were down by three games in the playoffs and came back to force a Game 7 against the Vancouver Canucks. The Blackhawks lost, but some valuable experience was gained from Keith, who's now sharing it with his former team.
The three time Cup Champion Keith played his last season before retirement with the Oilers after 16 seasons with Chicago. Although his last season with Edmonton wasn't the greatest, it's undeniable that Keith is a proven winner in the NHL.
If any team could come back from down 3 games in the Cup Final, it would be these Edmonton Oilers led by Connor McDavid. Still with only one point in this series, McDavid and the Oilers need to find a way to break through offensively against Bobrovsky, or else their season will be over tonight. According to MoneyPuck, the Oilers have just a 6.6% chance of coming back to win this series.
Tonight needs to be the Oilers best effort of the season, as the Panthers will push as hard as they can to finish the job tonight. If the Oilers don't want to watch Matthews Tkachuk lift the first Stanley Cup in Rogers Place, the Oilers need to pull off their first win tonight.
